So the “git merge –abort” operation essentially terminates the merger that you have just carried out and separated the two versions of your file, i.e., the current version and the older version. One of the main reasons I use SourceTree is the ability to commit changes to individual lines of a file, or discard those individual changes. Reverse hunk just means that you want to undo that commit. What you did in Sourcetree was just a diff between your current workspace and the branch you selected, and the output Window on the right shows that diff.
